• The Heartleaf extract (houttuynia cordata, (a chameleon plant with characteristic heart-shaped leaves) is known for its anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. Anua only uses ingredients from leaves grown and harvested in Korea. Heartleaf (scientifically known as houttuynia cordata) is a flavonoid and flowering plant native to Southeast Asia. Due to its antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, Heartleaf has been traditionally used for medicinal purposes. The raw leaves and extracts of the plant are consumed to purify the blood and relieve inflammatory conditions in the body. The leaf extract also has astringent properties that can effectively (yet gently) deep cleanse pores while regulating excess sebum production.
